Breeding pure
« on: February 17, 2009, 08:58:10 am »
I have five Cream Created Legbar hens. I got a CCL cockerel on 7th Feb and they have been kept together since then. Prior to Hugo's arrival, the hens were running with our Copper Black Maran cockerel.

I'd like to set some CCL eggs - Hugo's "working". How long do I have to wait before I can be sure that the eggs are pure CCL and not Maran crosses?

Thanks

Rosemary

can be upto 3 weeks for the marans work to be completely over and the new boy to be the only donor. although you could set a few eggs to see what shade you get from a maran x ccl pullet.
