Anyone in Suffolk/South Norfolk with Wieners for sale?
« on: May 10, 2011, 11:00:48 am »
Hello all on the forum! We have had two successful lots of piggies, Y1, 1x GOS and 1x TAM, both boars, Y2 3 GOS gilts. I would like to purchase 4 for fattening again, preferably boars. Would like to stick to GOS or Tamworths. I am based near Bury St Edmunds and would rather not travel more than 30-40 miles. Can anyone help? :farmer:

Try the GOS website www.oldspots.org.uk check under members details there a a number of GOS breeders in your neck of the woods.
Also the Tamworth website. Google tamworth pig breeders.
Most peoples Xmas fattening stock will be being born around now so it might be you'll have to put your name down for weaners and collect them in 8 weeks and they'll be ready to go to butchers in time for Xmas.

You could try posting a 'wanted ad' on the tamworth breeders club forum
 http://www.tamworthbreedersclub.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl

We are in the process of getting a new website up and live which will have a regional breeders directory hopefully!

We're not a million miles from Bury St. E and this year we got some lovely GOS weaners from Georgina at Oak House Farm who is down near Ipswich and she seems to have a fairly regular supply.

We're in Bury and have just (3 weeks ago) purchased a couple of GOS x saddleback weaners from Kevin Blundell in Assington 07917324431
So many ideas, not enough hours

I am based in ipswich and have 4 old spot weaners for sale.  they are currently 4 weeks , will be 8 weeks 11th june.  plenty of boars. Have weaned early as they are a large litter, but all are very sturdy and healthy.

Picked up four GOS boars from Georgina at Oak Farm. All settling in nicely and they have the nicest character of any wieners I have had before!

Thanks all for your tips.
