Norty piggies!!
« on: April 09, 2011, 11:36:24 pm »
I had let Poppy, Primrose and Barnie the goats out to graze, they enjoyed it as it was a gorgeous day. They have to go through the pigs yard to get out.
I alway put pigs in their shelter while goats go past.  The gate must have been loose, because two little piggies got out into the field.  With much squealing the larger of the two, ran round, the other stayed near the gate.  Hens scattered making a racket, llama ran too, all the goats ran inside.  Bertie the pet sheep decided to have a look, ginger pig charged at him, and Bertie sheep chased him.  It was chaos.  I got some pig nuts and shook the tin, and the two girls waddled back inside!!

Peace restored, everyone came out again, peering cautiously in case they came back again.

Lovely story, made me smile.   ;D    Thanks for posting.
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

I kept very calm amid the chaos, because the two girls know my voice, and associate me with their food, so when the heard me talking and rattling their food tin, they followed.  The only thing was, it was likely the goats, llama and sheep would follow too ......but it was lucky they all ran the other way.
