VSS's point about food storeage
« on: September 24, 2010, 05:53:23 pm »
Hi - just an add on from the thread about cattle eating pig food. VSS makes the point that , had sheep been able to access our pig food , they would be now be dead. We don't keep sheep but they do next door to us. We have really up-together stockproof fencing. But VSS's point is really important - and this brush with near-tragedy has made me very aware that not only must you be aware of health hazards to your own stock - but also to the stock of your neighbours. This means proper fencing and secure food storeage. We are all learning all of the time - mostly it's  ( usually ) joyful - but this is a serious business .... if I'd had a hand in killing my neighbour's stock I'd be feeling like an irresponsible idiot. And I would be excatly that.
Thanks for the point VSS
