Well, apart from any snagging, the joiners are now finished. The kitchen is in but not quite finished, because the tiler has still to do the splashback, the painter still has the pantry to paint out and the granite worktop will be here next week (hopefully).

The floors in the dining room and living room are in, as is the fire surround, although it's still to be stained. We've actually got the furniture in the two rooms now and we're moving by stealth into the kitchen. The electrician should be here tomorrow to finish his bits; the plumber is finished. The tiles for the hall are being delivered on Friday morning and the tiler will be here next weekend; painter here this week. So, all things being equal and weather permitting, we should be pretty much finished this time next week.

Once the tradesmen are finished, we'll have to clean right through the house - there is a layer of dust over everything. We've still got stuff to bring up Alloa - I didn't think we had much "stuff" but I was wrong, very wrong, so there will be a bit of clearing out and tidying to be done and there's stuff like curtain rails and things to go up but we're on the home straight now.

The real fly in the ointment is the ground source heat pump, which still isn't working properly. The installers have been very thorough but the problem seems to be between them and the supplier of the plant. It's working, but off the electricity which is a pain, and an expensive one to boot.

Wish I were there, my friends, I sure would give you a hand. I remember the days of taking care of a lot of animals in the snow and ice. I have to be honest and say, "I do not miss that part of having animals". Although there are many aspects of having them, I really miss! Nothing like walking into a barn, in the winter cold and hear the horses eating their hay. Love it! It is good to hear that you are getting oh so close to having your lovely home finished! Fantastic! And in time for Christmas and New Years! Take care you guy's. Oh yes. Do you still have the same E-mail address? Have a great day!
