Kittens mugged by hen

I was in the kitchen yesterday with Dan's mum, when we heard the cat flaps rattle and both kittens ran into the house. We could hear something squeeking but by the time we went out, the kittens, and their prey, had exited again (thank goodness).

They had obvioulsy caught some unfortunate small rodent and I could see one of them hunting it round the flower bed, while the other watched. This went on for some time until one of the big Black Rocks bustled over, grabbed the rodent, despatched it and (I think) ate it. The expression on the kittens faces was fabulous. Mugged by a hen - Cassius will be turning in his grave!
