Oat Cookies
These are so easy, your biscuit tin will never be empty again. This is the basic recipe - you can add dried fruit, nuts, ginger, as you please. My favourite, so far, is ginger, with ground ginger and stem ginger added.
Ingredients
- 4oz butter
- 4oz dark soft brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons golden syrup
- 4oz self raising flour
- 4oz porridge oats
Instructions
You'll need a lightly buttered baking sheet.
- Preheat your oven to 180C / 350F / GM 4
- Melt the butter, sugar and syrup in a pan
- Add flour and oats and mix well.
- Add dried fruit, nuts, ginger to taste.
- Form into balls about the size of a table tennis ball, place on the baking sheet and flatten slightly.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until lightly browned.
